The appearance of security patrols since the 1990's represents a response of urban transport companies in France in the face of worsening security conditions and the resulting deleterious effect on their operations.
Abstract
The activities of security patrols have been beneficial but there are still many questions concerning the professionalization of these patrols. In addition, while they have a mediating role to play in urban life, they are still relatively compartmentalized. This being the case, the question of shared responsibility for the management of safety and public spaces should be raised. 30 references
