Abstract
THE MANUAL CONTAINS SECTIONS ON THE RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE OPERATOR, TELEPHONE MESSAGE TECHNIQUES, AND RADIOTELEPHONE COMMUNICATIONS FOR BASE AND MOBILE UNIT STATIONS. SIGNAL CODES, MESSAGE FORMS, THE PHONETIC ALPHABET, AND OTHER DEVICES TO ECONOMIZE ON COMMUNICATIONS TIME ARE TREATED IN AN EXHIBIT SECTION. THE ROLE OF THE FEDERAL COMMUNICATIONS COMMISSION IN REGULATING RADIO TRAFFIC IS EXPLAINED. THE SPECIAL TECHNIQUES EMPLOYED IN LAW ENFORCEMENT COMMUNICATIONS ARE EXPLAINED FOR RADIO AND TELETYPEWRITER SYSTEMS.
