This report describes the 1987 efforts of Public/Private Ventures, a nonprofit organization formed in 1977 to design new strategies to remedy such problems as the high school dropout rate, illiteracy, teenage pregnancy, and youth unemployment.
Abstract
Activities included the completion of an impact study of youth conservation and service corps, an analysis of collaborative programs involving business in the public schools, and a paper on the role of the State in serving at-risk youth. Demonstration programs designed to prevent young teenagers from dropping out of school and to provide skills training through community improvement projects were also conducted. Illustrations, financial statements, and list of staff and publications.
