Abstract
ONE GOAL WAS TO IDENTIFY SEVERAL DISTINCTIVE PATROLMAN TYPES ON THE BASIS OF FIELD PERFORMANCE AND SHOW THAT THERE IS A VARIETY OF SUCCESSFUL AND UNSUCCESSFUL PATTERNS OF POLICE BEHAVIOR. THE REPORT CONCLUDES THAT THE IDEAL ATTRIBUTES FOR SUCCESS AS A PATROLMAN ARE ALL RELATED TO STABILITY.
