SURVEY ON CHARACTERISTICS OF CLOTHING NEEDED FOR POLICE PROTECTION FROM MITRE POLICE FIELD SITES AT COLUMBUS (GEORGIA), LOS ANGELES, INDIANAPOLIS, AND EAST LANSING.
Abstract
QUESTIONS CONCERNING COMFORT, COST, DEGREE OF PROTECTION, STYLE, AND ENVIRONMENTAL CHARACTERISTICS WERE SUBMITTED TO FOUR MITRE POLICE SITES. THE QUESTIONS CONCERNED THREATS TO POLICE, THE CLOTHING FORM OF THE PROTECTIVE GARMENT, PROTECTIVE GARMENT COST RANGE, AND ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS UNDER WHICH THE GARMENT WOULD BE WORN. COMMENTS ARE MADE AS WELL ON INTELLIGENCE ACTIVITIES, COMFORT VERSUS PROTECTION, AND LAUNDERING CHARACTERISTICS. THE INITIAL FINDINGS FROM THIS SURVEY ARE SUMMARIZED. FOR DISCUSSION OF OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS DERIVED FROM THIS AND OTHER DATA, SEE NCJ-14962 AND NCJ-14963.
