FINAL REPORT ON A PROJECT WHICH SOUGHT TO IMPROVE THE QUALITY, EFFICIENCY, AND OPERATIONS OF THE PROSECUTOR IN THE UNITED STATES THROUGH PROVISION OF TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE TO STATE AND LOCAL PROSECUTORS.
Abstract
THIS REPORT CONTAINS A BRIEF OUTLINE OF THE PROJECT BACKGROUND AND FUNDING, A LIST OF THE TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE VISITS AND SEMINARS COMPLETED DURING THE FINAL REPORT PERIOD, STATISTICS ON FINAL REPORTS MAILED AND TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE VISITS PLANNED AND COMPLETED, AND A DESCRIPTION OF THE INTERNAL CONTROL PROCEDURES OF THE PROJECT. THE MAJOR PART OF THE EVALUATION OF THIS PROJECT UNDER THIS GRANT WAS BY EVALUATION LETTERS FROM THE PROSECUTORS WHOSE OFFICES WERE VISITED. THE LETTERS RECEIVED DURING THIS PERIOD WERE ALL FAVORABLE, AND ARE ATTACHED TO THIS REPORT. THE REPORT CONCLUDES THAT THIS PROJECT HAS HAD A POSITIVE IMPACT ON PROSECUTOR'S OFFICES VISITED AND ON THE CRIMINAL JUSTICE SYSTEM NATIONWIDE. THE APPENDED MATERIALS INCLUDE A LIST OF TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE VISITS, A LIST OF APPROVED CONSULTANTS, EVALUATION LETTERS, AND LETTERS CONCERNING GRANT EXTENSIONS AND WAIVERS.
