THIS PUBLICATION INCORPORATES INFORMATION AND ANALYSES FROM PREVIOUS AMERICAN BAR ASSOCIATION SURVEYS AND STUDIES IN ORDER TO PROVIDE A FACTUAL DESCRIPTION OF THE OFFICE OF PROSECUTOR AND POWERS OF THE ATTORNEY GENERAL.
Abstract
THE SURVEYS AND STUDIES UTILIZED IN THIS VOLUME INCLUDE: THE 1971 STUDY ON THE OFFICE OF ATTORNEY GENERAL, THE 1972 SURVEY OF LOCAL PROSECUTORS, THE 1973 SURVEY OF LOCAL PROSECUTORS CONTAINING DATA ON 1000 LOCAL PROSECUTORS, AND A REPORT ON PROSECUTOR TRAINING AND ASSISTANCE PROGRAMS. THE INFORMATION IN THIS REPORT PROVIDES A DESCRIPTION OF THE DUTIES AND ACTIVITIES INVOLVED IN THE PROSECUTION FUNCTION; THE ORGANIZATION, STAFF, AND SALARIES OF PROSECUTORS; AN EXAMINATION OF TRAINING AND ASSISTANCE PROGRAMS FOR PROSECUTORS; A DISCUSSION OF THE ATTORNEY GENERAL'S AUTHORITY IN LOCAL PROSECUTIONS; AND AN EXAMINATION OF THE RELATIONSHIPS BETWEEN PROSECUTORS AND ATTORNEYS GENERAL.
