To assist Ohio's juvenile corrections policymakers and planners, this volume provides profiles of the geographic, demographic, and bureaucratic nature of the State on a county-by-county basis.
Abstract
The counties are listed in alphabetical order with assigned numeric prefixes. Each county profile reflects, in narrative and tabular form, statistics gathered from a variety of sources on population projections, county revenues and expenditures, juvenile courts, and district detention homes and rehabilitation facilities. Estimates of annual court and confinement caseloads also were obtained, and county commissioners were surveyed about public attitudes toward juvenile corrections construction projects. Data provided for each county include general and juvenile population characteristics, intergovernmental relations, juvenile court statistics, detention and disposition practices, existing and potential demand for juvenile detention and rehabilitation facilities, income and debt budgets, and likelihood of juvenile correctional capital improvements and construction.
