Abstract
THE BIBLIOGRAPHY IS DIVIDED INTO FOUR MAIN SECTIONS. THE FIRST PART IDENTIFIES SOURCES WHICH SUMMARIZE APPLIED SOCIAL RESEARCH TECHNIQUES, THUS PROVIDING AN OVERVIEW OF THE EVALUATION RESEARCH PROCESS. THE SECOND SECTION CONTAINS READINGS WHICH FOCUS SPECIFICALLY ON PROGRAM EVALUATION; THESE READINGS ARE GROUPED BY TOPIC: THE TECHNIQUE OF EVALUATION RESEARCH, ITS METHODOLOGICAL DESIGN, UTILIZATION OF RESULTS, POLITICAL ASPECTS, AND PROBLEMS/LIMITATIONS. THE THIRD SECTION OF THE BIBLIOGRAPHY LISTS MATERIALS WHICH DESCRIBE THE USE OF EVALUATION RESEARCH IN SOCIAL ACTION AND OTHER PUBLIC SECTOR PROGRAMS. PART FOUR IDENTIFIES SOURCES WHICH CONCENTRATE ON THE CHARACTERISTICS AND ACTIVITIES OF INDIVIDUAL EVALUATORS IN THE RESEARCH PROCESS. IF AN ITEM DEALS EXTENSIVELY WITH MORE THAN ONE SUBJECT, IT IS LISTED IN ALL APPROPRIATE SECTIONS OF THE BIBLIOGRAPHY. EACH ITEM IS ARRANGED BY AUTHOR AND CONTAINS THE FOLLOWING ADDITIONAL BIBLIOGRAPHIC INFORMATION: TITLE, PLACE OR JOURNAL, PUBLISHER, DATE, AND PAGES.
