Abstract
PROPOSED STANDARDS AND GOALS ON THE FOLLOWING TOPICS ARE OUTLINED IN THIS ARTICLE: SELECTION OF SECURITY PERSONNEL, TRAINING OF PRIVATE SECURITY PERSONNEL, ADOPTION OF A PRIVATE SECURITY CODE OF CONDUCT AND ETHICS, IMPROVEMENT OF ALARM SYSTEMS, AND PROMOTION OF ENVIRONMENTAL SECURITY THROUGH ENVIRONMENTAL DESIGN. STANDARDS AND GOALS ARE ALSO PRESENTED ON INTERACTION OF PRIVATE SECURITY AND LAW ENFORCEMENT AGENCIES, CONSUMERS OF SECURITY SERVICES, PROMOTION OF HIGHER EDUCATION AND RESEARCH IN PRIVATE SECURITY, AND THE REGULATION, LICENSING, AND REGISTRATION OF PRIVATE SECURITY AND PRIVATE SECURITY PERSONNEL.
