Abstract
Cases relevant to first amendment freedoms; access to the courts; protection from harm; medical aid; and discipline, classification, and transfers are cited, along with cases dealing with rehabilitation and treatment; physical conditions; parole; and civil disabilities. The legal literature includes books on legal rights and studies, reports on legal standards, etc. Periodicals pertain to general articles, first amendment freedoms, access to the courts, the eighth amendment, disciplinary administration, right to treatment, and judicial review of prison decisions. Other articles cited examine rights related to parole (generally and the right to counsel), civil disabilities, and detainers. Each section includes a brief explanation of the current state of legal affairs related to the particular right.
