Abstract
A QUALITATIVE AND QUANTITATIVE ASSESSMENT OF THE PROBLEM IS MADE AND EXISTING SECURITY OPERATIONS AMONG CORRECTIONAL INSTITUTIONS ARE OUTLINED. A LIST OF POSSIBLE ALTERNATIVES FOR IMPROVING THE MONITORING OF CELL DOOR STATUS IS PRESENTED ALONG WITH THE GENERAL REQUIREMENTS THAT ANY SUCH ALTERNATIVE MUST MEET.
