AN ASSESSMENT OF THE DATA EXCHANGE SYSTEM, INCLUDING AN ANALYSIS OF THE PROJECT'S STATISTICAL AND RESEARCH DESIGN, THE METHODS BY WHICH EVALUATION WILL BE MADE, AND A FOCUS ON SYSTEM ASPECTS OF THE DESIGN AND HARDWARE.
Abstract
TO DETERMINE THE ADEQUACY OF THE RESEARCH DESIGN AND STATISTICAL METHODS PROPOSED AND BEING USED TO EVALUATE THE EFFECTIVENESS OF THE SYSTEM IN REDUCING CASE PROCESSING TIME, A REVIEW OF THE STATED GOALS AND OBJECTIVES OF THE COMPUTERIZED ON-LINE INFORMATION AND MANAGEMENT SYSTEM WAS UNDERTAKEN. A SYSTEMS APPROACH USING SUBJECTIVE AS WELL AS QUANTITATIVE MEASURES AND EXAMINING SUB-UNITS, RESOURCES AND HOW WELL THE SYSTEM ADAPTS WAS EMPLOYED. IT WAS FOUND THAT ON THE WHOLE THE EVALUATION PLAN WAS A GOOD ONE TO DETERMINE CHANGES IN CASE PROCESSING TIME. THE CURRENT STATUS OF THE DATA EXCHANGE SYSTEM WAS REVIEWED. SPECIFIC AREAS EVALUATED WITH RESPECT TO SYSTEM DESIGN AND HARDWARE INCLUDED THE PRELIMINARY SYSTEM STUDY AND DESIGN, IMPLEMENTATION PLANNING, CONVERSION FROM THE EXISTING SYSTEM, SYSTEM CONTROL CONCEPTS BACKUP AND RECOVERY COMPONENTS, EQUIPMENT SELECTION, SOFTWARE SELECTION, AND SYSTEM TRANSFERABILITY.
