THIS IS AN EVALUATION OF THE PORTSMOUTH (VA) PREVENTION AND DIVERSION OF STATUS OFFENDERS PROGRAM, WHICH SEEKS TO SEPARATE STATUS OFFENDERS FROM TYPICAL PROBATION CASELOADS, ALLOWING MORE INTENSIVE SUPERVISION.
Abstract
THE EVALUATION, BASED ON INTERVIEWS AND OBSERVATION, CONCLUDED THAT THE PROGRAM HAS SUFFERED BECAUSE OF A POSTPONEMENT IN THE STARTING TIME WHICH INTERFERED WITH THE HIRING OF PERSONNEL. IT WAS ALSO FOUND THAT THE PROJECT MANAGEMENT SHOULD DESIGN AND IMPLEMENT AN INFORMATION SYSTEM TO PROVIDE DATA ON THE NUMBER, TYPES, AND DURATION OF SUPPORTIVE ACTIVITY; DISPOSITION AND RESULTS; THE EFFECT OF THE PROGRAM; AND JUVENILE COURT CASELOAD INFORMATION....MSP
