Abstract
PORT IS A COMMUNITY BASED, COMMUNITY-SUPPORTED, COMMUNITY-DIRECTED TREATMENT FACILITY FOR CRIMINAL OFFENDERS AND JUVENILE DELINQUENTS IN ROCHESTER, MN. PORT PROVIDES AN ALTERNATIVE FOR THOSE MALE OFFENDERS WHO REQUIRE A GREATER CHANGE IN THEIR LIFESTYLES THAN PROBATION CAN ACCOMPLISH AND WHO, EXCEPT FOR PORT, WOULD END UP IN A PRISON OR TRAINING SCHOOL. THE CASE HISTORIES CONTAIN INFORMATION ON THE CLIENT'S AGE, REFERRING COURT, OFFENSE, ALTERNATIVE DISPOSITION IF PORT WERE NOT AVAILABLE, DATE OF ENTRY TO PORT AND A CAPSULE DESCRIPTION OF HIS PRESENT PROGRESS AND PROGNOSIS. FOR RELATED PORT DOCUMENTATION, PLEASE REFER TO NCJ NUMBERS 14365, 14367, AND 14369.
