This report is a description of admissions, releases, and transfers within the Massachusetts correctional institutions during 1977.

Abstract

Information is classified according to type of admission, type of release, institutional transfers, returns from hospitals, releases to hospitals, transfers of houses of correction inmates to Department of Correction facilities, and transfers to houses of correction. Other categories are returns of Department of Correction inmates from houses of correction, transfers to houses of correction on a from and after sentence, admissions from out of State, and releases to out of State. Each table is subdivided by the specific correctional facility. The data were obtained from the data base developed by the Correction and Parole Management Information System. A glossary is included.
