Abstract
ENFORCEMENT PROBLEMS AND STRATEGIES PECULIAR TO ORGANIZED CRIME AND WHITE-COLLAR CRIME, PROBLEMS IN THE MEASUREMENT AND EVALUATION OF 'SUCCESS' IN THE CAMPAIGNS TO ELIMINATE THEM; AND TRENDS IN THESE AREAS OF ILLEGAL ENDEAVOR ARE EXAMINED. BOTH THE ILLEGAL-BUSINESS ASPECTS OF ORGANIZED CRIME AND CRIMES WITHIN THE FRAMEWORK OF LEGITIMATE BUSINESS ARE ANALYZED. AN APPENDIX CONTAINS A SAMPLE OF DEFINITIONS OR DESCRIPTIONS THAT HAVE BEEN APPLIED TO THE TERM OF 'ORGANIZED CRIME'.
