A SURVEY OF 150 POLICEWOMEN IN RELATION TO AGE, EDUCATIONAL ATTAINMENT, BACKGROUND EMPLOYMENT, MOTIVATION, AND JOB SATISFACTION.
Abstract
THE INVESTIGATION LED THE AUTHOR TO CONCLUDE THAT WOMEN OFTEN ENTER THE POLICE PROFESSION FOR DIFFERENT MOTIVES THAN DO MEN. WOMEN APPEARED TO HAVE REACHED A HIGHER EDUCATIONAL ACHIEVEMENT THAN HAD MEN. ALTHOUGH ON THE WHOLE THEY WERE SATISFIED, WOMEN FELT THEY WERE LIMITED BY THE TYPES OF TASKS TO WHICH THEY WERE ASSIGNED.
