Abstract
THE TEXT IS CONCERNED WITH THE IMPORTANCE OF LAW ENFORCEMENT RECORDS, TYPES OF FORMS NEEDED TO MAKE A RECORDS SYSTEM WORKABLE AND COMPREHENSIVE. THERE ARE EXAMPLES OF TYPES OF FORMS NEEDED WITH AN OUTLINE OF SUGGESTED METHODS FOR PROPER FORM COMPLETION, RECORD FILING PROCEDURES THAT WILL PERMIT EASY ACCESS TO RECORDED AND FILED POLICE INFORMATION. SPECIAL ATTENTION IS DEVOTED TO SPECIFIC FORMS FOR PARTICULAR OFFENSE INVESTIGATIONS AND A DETAILED EXPLANATION OF TRAFFIC CRASH REPORTING PROCEDURES. THE AUTHORS HAVE DESIGNED THE TEXT IN SUCH A MANNER THAT AN ADMINISTRATOR CAN FOLLOW THE BOOK FORMAT IN DETERMINING HIS DEPARTMENT'S NEEDS. (AUTHOR ABSTRACT MODIFIED)
