THIS PLAN, DEVELOPED IN A STATEWIDE POLICE COMMUNICATIONS STUDY, PRESENTS THE BASIS FOR IMPROVED AND MORE EFFECTIVE POLICE COMMUNICATIONS WITHIN THE STATE OF GEORGIA.
Abstract
THE PLAN INCLUDES FACTUAL MATERIAL ON THE POLICE MOBILE RADIO SITUATION IN EACH LOCAL AREA OF THE STATE SO THAT BY REVIEWING THE SITUATION IN ITS AREA AND COMPARING IT WITH THAT IN OTHERS, EACH AGENCY MAY DECIDE WHAT IS REQUIRED TO IMPROVE ITS RADIO COMMUNICATION CAPABILITIES. IT CONTAINS A RECOMMENDED SYSTEM OF CHANNEL ASSIGNMENTS, CHANNEL SHARING, AND CHANNEL USE FOR EACH AREA SO THAT ALL WILL OBTAIN IMPROVED AND INTERFERENCE-FREE POLICE MOBILE RADIO CHANNELS. THE PLAN MAKES PROVISION IN THE SYSTEM OF CHANNEL ASSIGNMENTS FOR READY ACCESS BY ANY POLICE OFFICER ON PATROL TO THE REGIONAL, STATE AND NATIONAL CRIMINAL JUSTICE INFORMATION SYSTEMS.
