DESCRIPTION OF POLICE PROFESSIONALISM AS AN ATTAINABLE GOAL THROUGH A CHANGE IN POLICE ATTITUDES RATHER THAN THE ACQUISITION OF MORE SOPHISTICATED TRAINING AND EQUIPMENT.
Abstract
ATTRIBUTES OF A POLICEMAN WITH A PROFESSIONAL ATTITUDE ARE LISTED AS BEING PROBLEM RATHER THAN TASK ORIENTED, CONCERN FOR PEOPLE, UNWILLING TO COMPROMISE HIS STANDARDS, ABLE TO RECOGNIZE HIS LIMITATIONS, SENSITIVE TO OTHERS' EMOTIONAL NEEDS, AND PROUD OF HIS WORK AND HIMSELF.
