Abstract
TYPOLOGIES ARE DEVELOPED FOR DIFFERENT KINDS OF POLICE CORRUPTION AND FOR THE VICTIMS OF THIS CORRUPTION. THE CONCLUSIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS TREAT POLICE CORRUPTION AS ESSENTIALLY A PROBLEM IN POLICE MANAGEMENT, THE SOLUTION TO WHICH IS A SERIES OF PROGRAMS AND PROCEDURES TO CONTROL POLICE BEHAVIOR AND TO RESHAPE POLICE ATTITUDES. ELEMENTS WHICH ARE MENTIONED AS ESSENTIAL TO AN EFFECTIVE PROGRAM ARE - A REDEFINITION OF RELATIONSHIPS, ETHICAL CODES, A NEW ADMINISTRATIVE STYLE, SPECIFIC PERSONNEL POLICIES, DEPARTMENT REACTION TO POLICE CRIMINALITY, AND AN INTERNAL INVESTIGATION UNIT.
