Abstract
It investigates the alleged causes of plea negotiations and addresses the development and current dynamics of this legal practice. The study also delves into the relationship between plea bargaining and sentencing, based on a quantitative case study of the courts in Buffalo, N.Y., which have jurisdiction over all felonies occurring in Erie County. Data tables and about 35 references are included.
