          Abstract
              The Advanced Tech Talk 5-watt 4-channel handheld, which is claimed to be the most powerful palm-size portable in the world, can fit into a shirt pocket. General Electric's MPI Personal Radio weighs 16 ounces and is crystal controlled. The Johnson Challenger LX is a 2-channel, 2-watt UHF portable that's only 1-inch thick where held. ICOM America offers a selection of handheld and mobiles for both VHF Hi and UHF public safety bands. Midland Land Mobile Radio offers an economy model 4-channel, crystal-controlled portable. Others mentioned are Tempo, Maxon, Motorola, Repco, Regency, Standard, Uniden, Wilson, and Yaesu models. Photographs and list of company addresses.
