This handbook is provided to victims by the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency (PCCD) on available victims’ services, programs, and referrals/resources.
Abstract
The victim service programs contained within this publication represent a broad range of the available services to crime victims in Pennsylvania, arranged by county. All attempts have been made to obtain the most up-to-date and accurate information possible. Victim service programs are able to help crime victims deal with the physical, emotional, and financial consequences that crime imposes upon them by providing advocacy, court accompaniment, crisis intervention, supportive counseling, assistance in filing a claim with the Victims Compensation Assistance Program, and other services. The handbook is divided into four sections. The first provides a list, alphabetically within each county, of both system-based and community-based victim/witness and victim service programs. The second section lists the phone numbers of other assistance agencies within the State. The third section lists both victim service and victims’ compensation programs in those States surrounding Pennsylvania. The final section provides toll-free hotline numbers for nationally based victim assistance and criminal justice programs.
