THE AUTHORS COMPARED PERIODICALS FROM A STATE AND A FEDERAL PENITENTIARY IN KANSAS, EXAMINING CONTENT AND PHYSICAL MAKEUP. THEY MAKE TENTATIVE FINDINGS AS TO WHAT THE CONTENT IMPLIES ABOUT INMATES' PRO- AND ANTI-SOCIAL ATTITUDES. SUGGESTIONS FOR FURTHER RESEARCH ARE MADE.
