Abstract
COMPILED BY THE ASSISTANT CATALOGER AND ARCHITECTURE LIBRARIAN OF OKLAHOMA STATE UNIVERSITY, THIS BIBLIOGRAPHY COVERS PROBATION AND PAROLE, A VITAL PART OF CORRECTIONAL EFFORTS IN AMERICA. IN AN AVERAGE STATE THE NUMBER OF PROBATIONERS AND PAROLEES IS ABOUT FIVE TIMES THE NUMBER OF PRISONERS. THE SUPERVISION OF PROBATIONERS AND PAROLEES IN THE COMMUNITY HAS GIVEN RISE TO MANY STUDIES AND EMPIRICAL RESEARCH. PROBATION AND PAROLE STUDIES HAVE ACCUMULATED A MONUMENTAL AMOUNT OF LITERATURE IN THE PAST DECADE. THIS BIBLIOGRAPHY IS DESIGNED TO HELP STUDENTS AND PRACTIONERS ALIKE WHO ARE LOOKING FOR ANSWERS TO THE COMPLEX PROBLEMS POSED BY PROBATION, PAROLE, AND PARDON PRACTICES. ORGANIZED ALPHABETICALLY BY AUTHOR, THE BIBLIOGRAPHY INCLUDES BOOKS, ARTICLES, PAPERS, AND RESEARCH REPORTS PUBLISHED BOTH IN THE UNITED STATES AND ABROAD. THE MAJORITY OF THE ENTRIES WERE PUBLISHED IN THE 1970'S. (AUTHOR ABSTRACT MODIFIED-MJW)
