Abstract
THIS ARTICLE DETAILS HOW THE ASCENDING PAPER CHROMATOGRAPHIC TECHNIQUE WAS USED FOR THE IDENTIFICATION OF 24 FOUNTAIN PEN INKS AVAILABLE ON THE MARKET, USING WHATMAN NUMBER ONE FILTER PAPER. THE VARIOUS COLORED ZONES SEPARATED ON THE CHROMATOGRAM AND THEIR RESPECTIVE RATE OF MIGRATION VALUES ARE RECORDED IN A TABLE, INKS OBTAINED FROM VARIOUS HAND-WRITTEN TEXTS ARE ALSO ANALYZED AND COMPARED WITH KNOWN SAMPLES.
