Abstract
THE ORDER SETS FORTH THE COMPONENTS OF THE CAREER DEVELOPMENT PLAN TO BE ADMINISTERED BY LINE SUPERVISORS, MIDDLE MANAGERS, AND THE CHIEF OF POLICE. POLICIES ARE STATED RELATIVE TO TRAINING, EDUCATION, ROTATION OF ASSIGNMENTS, PERFORMANCE EVALUATION BY OBJECTIVES, COUNSELING AND PLANNING, POSITION SPECIFICATIONS, POSITION TITLES, AND PROMOTIONAL SYSTEMS. A DISCUSSION OF THE ADVANTAGES OF PERFORMANCE EVALUATION BY OBJECTIVES IS INCLUDED. JOB DESCRIPTIONS (DEFINITION, EXAMPLES OF DUTIES, EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS) ARE PRESENTED FOR POLICE CHIEF, POLICE CAPTAIN, POLICE SERGEANT, FIELD TRAINING OFFICER, POLICE OFFICER, POLICE TECHNICIAN, COMMUNICATIONS SUPERVISOR (CHIEF DISPATCHER-CLERK), POLICE DISPATCHER-CLERK, OFFICE SUPERVISOR, POLICE CLERK I AND 11 AND COMMUNICATIONS CLERK.
