Abstract
This June 2013 issue of OVC News & Program Updates contains nine articles focusing on improving collaboration and sustainability among victim services providers. The first article discusses the release of Vision 21: Transforming Victim Services Final Report by the Office of Victims of Crime (OVC). This report is a comprehensive assessment of the challenges facing the field of victim assistance. The second article discusses Web-based programs aimed at helping victims of identity theft. The third article, A Practitioner's Guide to Research Partnerships, discusses the need for increased collaboration between researchers and practitioners in the field of victim services. The fourth article discusses efforts to expand SANE-SART (Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner-Sexual Assault Response Team) training, while the fifth article highlights the AI/AN (American Indian/Alaska Native) SANE-SART Initiative. The sixth article provides information on how nonprofit organizations can select, maintain, task, and nurture their boards of directors. The seventh article discusses the efforts of the Foothills Child Advocacy Center, located in Charlottesville, VA, to maintain its level of service despite decreases in funding levels from the State. The eighth article presents information on OVC's new video series: Through Our Eyes: Children, Violence, and Trauma. The ninth article presents information on three individuals who have joined OVC's Fellowship Program.
