This collection of articles examines Chinese gangs, the Mafia, and other aspects of organized crime.
Abstract
The first article considers links among politics, terrorism, and the banking world in the context of organized crime and discusses the scandal associated with the Bank of Credit and Commerce International. The next article contends that the Mafia is not a modern corporation because it lacks centralized power, coordinated planning, and functional differentiation characteristics. Subsequent articles focus on Asian crime groups and the role of belief systems in organized crime. The final article applies organizational theory to organized crime. References
