This report highlights the activities of the Oregon Department of Corrections during fiscal year 1992.
Abstract
During the reporting period, the department reexamined its mission and the existing continuum of probation, parole, and prison, acknowledging the range of community supervision, incarceration, sanctions, and services, and the importance of that continuum in the successful management of offenders. Following the mission statement and organizational chart, this report describes the administrative and planning activities of the department, including the divisions of fiscal services, employee services, information systems and research, construction, and alcohol and drug treatment. A separate section discusses the department's legislatively authorized budget. The Institutions Branch covers classification and transfer, health and mental health services, education, and corrections industries. Divisions in the Community Services Branch include community supervision and corrections in Oregon, parole intervention guidelines, women's alternative programs, intensive supervision, and the integrated supervision information system. Finally, the Inspections Branch encompasses internal affairs, inspections, inmate disciplinary hearings, and internal audits.
