Abstract
DATA ARE GIVEN FOR EXPENDITURES, FEDERAL ACTION GRANTS, OTHER GRANTS, PERSONNEL, VEHICLES, OFFICERS ASSAULTED, CRIMES (CRIMINAL HOMICIDE, FORCIBLE RAPE, ROBBERY, ASSAULT, BURGLARY, LARCENY, AND MOTOR VEHICLE THEFT), POLICE DIVISION ACTIVITIES, OFFENSES, ADULT ARRESTS, JUVENILE ARRESTS, REQUESTS FOR SPECIAL ATTENTION, TRAFFIC ACCIDENTS, COMMUNITY SERVICES, CRIMINALISTIC ACTIVITIES, EDUCATIONAL ACHIEVEMENTS, AND COMMUNICATIONS. DIVISION MANPOWER DECREASED FROM 537 PERSONNEL IN 1976 TO 529 PERSONNEL IN 1977. THE NUMBER OF POLICE CARS ASSIGNED TO CITIZEN REQUESTS FOR POLICE SERVICE DECREASED BY ABOUT 1 PERCENT IN 1977, AS COMPARED WITH 1976. MAJOR CRIME WAS DOWN IN 1977 BY 2 PERCENT OVER 1976. BIOGRAPHICAL SKETCHES OF THE POLICE CHIEF AND DEPUTY CHIEFS AND A ROSTER OF POLICE OFFICERS ARE INCLUDED. (DEP)
