This report profiles the funding opportunities and technical assistance resources offered by the U.S. Justice Department's Office of Justice Programs (OJP).
Abstract
OJP's mission is to provide Federal leadership in the development of the Nation's capacity to prevent and control crime, administer justice, and assist crime victims. It is organized into five bureaus and two operational offices that focus on specific aspects of OJP's mission. Each of these bureaus and offices is briefly described in this report. OJP's funding opportunities and technical assistance resources are described under the following categories: law enforcement; corrections/managing offenders; juvenile justice; crime victims; substance abuse and crime; terrorism and domestic preparedness; technology to fight crime; research, statistics, and evaluation; and tribal justice. Under each of these categories, various established funding programs are described in terms of program parameters, the amount of the fiscal year 2004 appropriation, and contact information. The second major category of services under each category involves training, technical assistance, and other resources. Each resource or program is briefly described, along with contact information. "Other Resources" listed are in the categories of electronic libraries, Federal partners, and community partners.
