Abstract
The Office of National Drug Control Policy's (ONDCP) fiscal year 2012 budget request of $355,685,000 and 99 FTEs reflects 3 appropriations: 1) $23,413,000 for Salaries and Expenses and 98 FTE (full-time equivalent), of which $23,163,000 is for Operations and $250,000 is for Policy Research; 2) $143,600,000 for Other Federal Drug Control Programs and 1 FTE, that includes funding for the National Youth Anti-Drug Media Campaign program, the Drug-Free Communities program, and Anti-Doping Activities; and 3) $200,000,000 for the High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area (HIDTA) program, that includes $197,300,000 for grants and Federal transfers, and up to $2,700,000 for HIDTA auditing services and associated activities. This budget request includes an overview of ONDCP's mission to advise the Administration on national and international drug control policies and strategies, to ensure the effective coordination of anti-drug programs within the Federal Government, and to foster healthy individuals and safe communities by leading the Nation's efforts to reduce drug use and its subsequent consequences.
