This document contains the Table of Organization, functional responsibilities, and 1992 operational highlights of the Drug Operations Section, Office of Diversion Control, Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA).
Abstract
The Drug Operations Section (ODO) comprises five units: Registration, Domestic Drug, International Drug, Data Systems, and Security Systems. The major responsibility of the ODO is to execute overall policy and program priorities regarding foreign and domestic controlled substances diversion operations for the Office of Diversion Control. During FY 1992, there were 596 DEA arrests related to the diversion of legitimately manufactured substances; nearly 9 million dollars in asset seizures; criminal fines in excess of 1 million dollars; and almost 3 million dollars in civil fines obtained as a result of diversion investigations. In addition to discussion of the functional responsibilities of each of the Units, the report contains information about the Drug Abuse Warning Network (DAWN), and about Special Enforcement Programs (Super K, Pony Express, and Carry Out), and instructions regarding import/export of controlled substances, with relevant documents.
