Abstract
THE STRUCTURE AND ORGANIZATION OF THIS DATA BASE, WHICH IS PART OF THE NEW YORK STATE IDENTIFICATION AND INTELLIGENCE SYSTEM, IS DELINEATED. THE DATA BASE CONTAINS FILES ON AN INDIVIDUAL'S CRIME HISTORY, HIS ARREST AND DISPOSITION CHARGES, HIS CORRECTIONAL INSTITUTION HISTORY, WANTED NOTICES ISSUED FOR THE PERSON, AND A HISTORY, OF HIS MENTAL HYGIENE. ALSO INCLUDED ARE SUCH ITEMS AS ALIASES USED BY THE INDIVIDUAL, PAROLE AND PROBATION INFORMATION, BIRTH AND ADDRESS RECORDS, EMPLOYMENT HISTORY, AND OTHER MISCELLANEOUS UNSTRUCTURED INFORMATION. THE FILES ALSO CONTAIN INFORMATION ON PERSONS ASSOCIATED WITH THE INDIVIDUAL IN CRIMINAL INCIDENTS AND VISITORS RECEIVED BY THE INDIVIDUAL WHILE IN A CORRECTIONAL INSTITUTION.
