Abstract
THE QUESTIONS CONCERN NEW CRIMES ARE LIKELY TO OCCUR AS A RESULT OF THE ENERGY CRISIS, THE IMMEDIATE IMPACT OF THE ENERGY CRISIS ON CRIME CONTROL AND DETERRENCE, AND THE IMPACT OF A BROWNOUT. ALSO DISCUSSED ARE NEW RESEARCH PROJECTS FOR ENERGY CONSERVATION WITHIN THE CRIMINAL JUSTICE SYSTEM THAT COULD BE UNDERTAKEN BY THE NATIONAL INSTITUTE, THE IMPACT ON COMPUTER-BASED SYSTEMS OF A BROWNOUT OR LACK OF ENERGY, AND THE IMPACT ON COMMUNICATIONS IN THE CRIMINAL JUSTICE SYSTEM OF A BROWNOUT OR LACK OF ENERGY.
