THE AUTHORS PROPOSE THAT ALL FIREARMS INSPECTED BY CRIME LABS AND PRIVATE AGENCIES BE MARKED WITH A METAL STAMP; THE STAMP WOULD BE SMALL, DESIGNATING A LETTER AND TWO DIGITS, THUS ENABLING 2,500 DIFFERENT LABS TO USE IT.
Abstract
THE ADVANTAGES OF SUCH A MARKING SYSTEM ARE DESCRIBED. THE STAMP MARKING'S SIZE (ONLY THREE-EIGHTHS OF AN INCH), WOULD ALLOW THE MARK TO BE PLACED ALMOST ANYWHERE ON THE GUN.
