Abstract
The report provides a history of the North Carolina court system as well as a discussion of the organization of the present system, including the Supreme Court, the Court of Appeals, the superior courts, the district courts, the juvenile services division, and the Judicial Standards Commission. Additionally, the organization and operations of the district attorneys, clerks of the superior courts, guardian ad litem services, public defender, appellate defender, and the North Carolina Courts Commission are outlined. Court financial and personnel resources for 1987-1988 are reported as well as the case flow data for State superior and district courts. The report includes tables, charts, and graphs.
