Abstract
The lists also includes awards made in fiscal year 1995 to supplement projects begun earlier. NIJ has also issued special solicitations for research studies in the four areas emphasized in the Violent Crime Control and Law Enforcement Act of 1994. The fiscal year 1995 awards are designed to respond to six goals: reducing violent crime, reducing drug- related crime and alcohol-related crime, reducing the consequences of crime, improving the effectiveness of crime prevention programs, improving law enforcement and the criminal justice system, and developing new technology for law enforcement and criminal justice. Within each goal category, the awards are listed alphabetically. The information includes the award number project title, name of grantee or contractor, name of the principal investigator, the dollar amount for the award, and a brief description.
