This is a collection of articles concerning drugs and AIDS.
Abstract
This collection of research findings was gathered from NIDA (National Institute on Drug Abuse) Notes and other NIDA projects during the period January 1995 to March 2001. The volume contains 85 articles, studies, reports, conference notes, manuals, and other educational material concerning drugs and AIDS. The general areas studied include: (1) preventing drug abuse-related infectious diseases through community outreach; (2) gender differences in drug abuse risks, research, and treatment; (3) ethical issues in drug abuse and HIV/AIDS studies; (4) medical consequences of drug abuse; (5) HIV prevention in drug-using populations; (6) medical potential of marijuana; (7) other drug-use paraphernalia besides needles may increase HIV infection risk; (8) identifying and treating those at risk for AIDS; (9) international conferences and the global information network; and (10) training scientists and educating the public.
