This document details the functions, priorities, programs, and finances of the New Zealand Department of Justice for 1994-95.
Abstract
Functions include policy advice on criminal justice and constitutional, legal, and social policy; administrative support to courts; enforcement of fines, community-based sentences and orders, and custodial sentences; information services to courts and corrections agencies; and other tasks. Its emphasis for the next year will be on continual improvement in effective resource use, service delivery, and both internal and external communication; developing services in ways that better reflect cooperation under the Treaty of Waitangi and which promote opportunities for wider involvement of the public; continual improvement in the management of change; and continued implementation of the equal employment opportunities policy.
