NARRATIVE AND TABULAR DATA IS PRESENTED ON THE CHARACTERISTICS OF THE TOTAL SAMPLE, THE EXTENT OF VICTIMIZATION AND MULTIPLE VICTIMIZATION, ESTIMATED RATES OF CRIME FOR SEPCIFIC OFFENSES, COMPARATIVE CRIME RATES FOR SYDNEY AND THREE AMERICAN CITIES, REASONS GIVEN FOR NOT REPORTING CRIMES, AND VICTIM INTERPRETATION OF THE SERIOUSNESS OF VARIOUS OFFENSES.
