This report provides statistical information on criminal offenses which occurred in the period between 1990 and 1992 in New South Wales (NSW); the statistics include all offenses reported to police and recorded on the NSW Police Service computer system.
Abstract
The report is organized into five major sections. The first section reviews major trends in recorded offenses over the 3-year period and provides figures showing trends in selected offenses as well as an analysis indicating which trends are significant. The second section presents monthly trends in selected major offense categories for the same period. The third section provides numbers of cleared offenses in each offense classification for NSW as a whole. Here, cleared offenses are divided into those that occurred in the same year and those that occurred previously. Nineteen tables comprising the fourth section give the numbers of recorded offenses during the three years for each NSW statistical division and for each statistical subdivision in Sydney. The last section contains a table for each of the 27 specific regions of NSW, providing numbers and rates for all offense classifications during the reporting period. 52 tables, 22 figures, and 3 appendixes
