Abstract
In the introduction, the powers, duties, and organization of the Division of State Police, one of nine divisions of the Department of Law and Public Safety, are explained. Each of the following chapters is devoted to the duties and accomplishments of a different police section: Investigations Section (responsible for criminal investigation), Division Staff Section, Field Operations Section (including five traffic safety troops), Intelligence Services Section, Emergency Management Section, Administration Section, Special and Technical Services Section, and Records and Identification Section. Each chapter presents annual statistics and special events for its different subdivisions. In this 72nd year of police service, the report stresses two major accomplishments: the graduation of the 113th State Police Class (consisting of 93 troopers) and the establishment of a four-year college requirement for all applicants as a prerequisite for employment. Photographs and charts are included.
