The New Jersey Bureau of Parole had nearly 90 percent of its parolees complete the parole period successfully in 1983. In the last 5 years, the Bureau's average daily case count has gone from 8,000 to nearly 11,500.
Abstract
Enactment of legislation easing the time restrictions pertaining to parole eligibility of county jail prisoners substantially increased the scope of Bureau activity with this type of case. The report discusses caseloads, personnel matters, treatment, parole hearings, training, volunteers in the parole program, and related matters. Charts and tables present statistical data.
