RECOMMENDATION THAT SPECIAL POLICE UNITS OF FROM 20 TO 30 PEOPLE FOR THE PURPOSE OF INVESTIGATING ORGANIZED CRIME OFFENSES BE ESTABLISHED AT THE WEST GERMAN STATE CRIMINAL POLICE LEVEL.
Abstract
NO ONE DENIES ANY LONGER THAT ORGANIZED CRIME EXISTS IN EUROPE. THIS WAS ADMITTED AT THE OCTOBER 1974 CONFERENCE ON ORGANIZED CRIME AT THE WEST GERMAN FEDERAL CRIMINAL POLICE BUREAU IN WIESBADEN. ESTABLISHMENT OF THE SPECIAL UNITS FOR THE INVESTIGATION OF ORGANIZED CRIME ON THE STATE LEVEL WOULD HAVE THE ADVANTAGE OF MAKING IT POSSIBLE FOR THEM TO COORDINATE THEIR EFFORTS WITH THOSE OF THE STATE PUBLIC PROSECUTOR'S OFFICE. THIS WOULD ELIMINATE MUCH UNNECESSARY PLANNING AND ORGANIZATIONAL WORK THAT OTHERWISE WOULD HAVE TO BE DONE EACH TIME AN ORGANIZED CRIME CASE HAD TO BE HANDLED. --IN GERMAN
