This statistical report of the Nebraska Department of Correctional Services (DCS) for fiscal year 1993 contains data on admissions and releases, adult inmates currently confined, releases to parole, releases to community corrections, parole discharges, parole revocations, and recidivism.
Abstract
The statistics show that the number of adult inmates incarcerated increased from 1,715 in 1983 to 2,609 in 1993. Of the 2,609 inmates, 140 were female. An additional 653 offenders were on adult parole and 12 were involved in the extended leave program. About 41 percent of adult inmates were in maximum-security facilities, 26 percent in medium- security facilities, 22 percent in minimum-security facilities, and 11 percent in the community. Detailed statistics are provided on the characteristics of male and female inmates, offenses, parolees, admissions and releases from the DCS, community corrections, parole discharges and revocations, and offender recidivism.
