The 1992/1993 annual report of the Nebraska Department of Corrections (DOC) describes and illustrates the department's facilities, programs, and services.
Abstract
The report identifies the DOC's statutory authority, purpose, and mission and lists the following DOC goals: operate the department in a safe and secure manner, maintain an adequate quality of life for inmates, provide for and maintain inmate rights, place inmates in appropriate custody from intake through release, provide meaningful programming and work for inmates, achieve and maintain accreditation, and improve training. The report describes the DOC's Division of Administrative Services, the Division of Adult Institutions, and the Division of Juvenile Services. In addition, the report details inmate classification and correctional programming, including mental health services, academic and vocational services, volunteer services, inmate program supervision, and adult parole administration. Data are provided on recidivism, adult and juvenile inmate admissions and releases, correctional facility design capacity, escapes, and parole. Tables and figures
